After lots of typing, copying & pasting bunny blogs and digging out old images and one logo later, I’ve finally finished updating the site. I can’t really believe that it’s been 4 years since I did the residency. With new website i’m able to update easily, and i hope that i can continue to add to this site.

Please feel free to send my images etc for the website, i always love to hear from people that want to contribute.

Even if you are new to my Sock Bunnies project i hope you enjoy =).

Bunny 20 – Plod (sin saang)

Birth name: Plod Sin Saang
Reason for naming: It is Cantonese for “Mister”.
Sex: Male
Background: Made from a pair of black socks. This pair was worn by a policeman working in Hong Kong on the night of the Handover as part of this dress uniform.
Personality: This bunny really loves to do things that remind him of Hong Kong. He’s very adoptable to new situations, people and places. He can be a little guarded with his feelings and would benefit from a patient and loving home. He likes to go outside on day trips.

Adopted name: Plod (sin saang)
Reason for adopted name: We wanted him to keep his name, we liked it; it is a well considered name. We have moved to this country also and feel that your identity is as much about your past and roots as it is about your future aspirations. It is important to retain this aspect of life.
Reason for choosing bunny: We travel a lot, go hill walking and mountain biking. We felt he would be OK with travelling and the outdoors.

Background: Made from a very old pair of socks that were not comfortable to wear any more.
Personality: This bunny loves to play. At his time at the Chinese Arts Centre he got to know everyone there very quickly. He likes to sit on people’s knees and drink Chinese tea.

Adopted name: Percy Chan
Reason for adopted name: Percy was his birth name, so we decided to keep it. It was his decision to take our surname.
Reason for choosing bunny: The thought of giving him a new home felt right.

Reason for naming: Spanish for toes. The sock owner studied Spanish at uni.
Sex: Male
Background: Made from one sock out of a pair. The owner has stated interest in adoption back one of the sock twins.
Personality: This bunny is a twin who he depends on very much. He is the shy one and always does what he sister wants to do. He sometimes doesn’t like want everyone to treat him the same as his sister. He loves to play tag with his sister. They would be adopted together.

Reason for adopted name: I have kept his original name – it was so fantastic and suited him so well!!
Reason for choosing bunny: I liked the twins instantly and felt a connection to them.

Reason for naming: Vedic Sanskrit for bunny (I think…or as far as google tells her)!
Sex: Female
Background: Made from one sock out of a pair. The owner didn’t like the feeling of toe socks.
Personality: This bunny is a twin and joint at the hip with her brother. They are very naughty and play pranks on all their carers. She always drags the brother into doing naughty things. They are very close and anyone adopted them would have to take both.

Reason for choosing bunny: How could I not? They are both wonderful!

Reason for naming: Named after a character from Strong Bad, Trogdor the Burninator being a dragon.

Background: Made from a single Armani sock. The owner lives in a shared house where many people live and pass through. This sock got into her wash and no one has claimed it.
Personality: This bunny has very expensive tastes and always wants things he can not have. Though he is little he has a huge personality. Would benefit from a placement that can control his spending habits.

Birth name: Nicky
Reason for naming: No reason.
Sex: Famle.
Background: One of twenty pairs of the same sock. The wife of the owner felt that is wouldn’t hurt if one pair went to a better home.
Personality: This bunny really likes dark spaces and hiding in corners. She is a very well behaved bunny and carers always find it a joy to look after her. She falls asleep with a book on her face every night because she loves to read every book she can get hold of. She gets annoyed that people think she is sporty.

Adopted name: Dylon Ellie
Reason for adopted name: I have named Dylon after the baby in the film Children of Men. I think the name suits her and will be a reminder of how fragile life is and how lucky we are to have her.
Reason for choosing bunny: I chose Dylon because she looked like she needed a loving home and parents to care for her

Personality: This bunny is very proper and likes fashion. She is a very girly bunny and likes ironing her ears. She is also very artistic and likes to do Chinese paintings.

Personality: This bunny knows little about her past and was not named by the original sock owner. She is very interested in her history and origins and tries to find at as much as possible by talking to other adopted bunnies and through art.

Reason for naming: It’s Adam Roberts’ middle name.
Sex: Male
Background: Made from a single sock. The owner’s mother always stitched his name into his clothes when he was in school (11 years old). He lost the other sock to this pair and it had a hole in it.
Personality: This is the smallest of the bunnies and is extremely timid. it take her a long time to get use to new places, but can be instantly attached to certain people. Relationships are very important to this bunny and he would blossom with an adopter who can help him overcome his shyness.

Adopted name: Thunderstorm
Reason for adopted name: Thunderstorm is grey and mischevious, like the weather condition.
Reason for choosing bunny: David had already told me that he liked Thunderstorm the most, and when I saw him along with all the other bunnies, I felt an instant connection to him. It was good to be able to adopt a bunny that we both felt protective towards.
